What happens at an implant consultation?

Placing implants off a panoramic alone is how inferior alveolar nerve injuries and sinus perforations happen, and it is not a corner worth cutting.

Consultation and CBCT together typically run $150 to $400, and most practices credit it against treatment if you proceed. What you should insist on receiving is the itemised quote: surgical placement under D6010, abutment under D6057, crown under D6058, plus any grafting or sinus lift priced separately. A lump-sum figure cannot be compared against anything.
What should I bring or ask about?
Bring your dental insurance details, a list of current medications, and any imaging from another practice. Blood thinners, bisphosphonates and diabetes control all affect planning and need to be on the table at this stage rather than the week of surgery. If you have been quoted elsewhere, bring the quote.
Will I be told whether I am a candidate?
